| Summary | Whilst we find ourselves upon the verge of the impending Bein Hametzorim, this time of year is actually auspicious for Brocho. Reb Yossi Shlit"a discussed various Peshotim in the story of Bilaam and why his intended blessings/curses really were - worthless! The central theme was that in many aspects of life, there is a "Mashpiya" and a "Mekabel" - but Bilam just wanted to "have everything". Reb Pinchos Freedman Shlit"a gives a beautifully novel P'shat as to why a Chosson breaks a glass under the Chuppa, using this theme. This was followed by a very interesting Sforno, in relation to the 'planned' blessings of Bilam. |
