| Summary | Rabbi Chazzan developed upon the theme, how, according to many Seforim, the days of the Omer can be compared to Chol Hamoed, as they are surrounded by Yom Tov before and after. How then, can this be reconciled with what we have been taught by Chazal - that the days of the Omer are in fact days of mourning? Rabbi Chazzan also considered the Gemorah that explains why the Beis Hamikdosh was destroyed, together with a beautiful Ran. A fascinating Reb Tzodok Hacohen followed, who gives a completely different Pshat in the Chazal that the Talmedei Reb Akiva did not "honour each other". Many other thoughts followed and he concluded with a lovely Pshat relating to the tremendous obligation to learn Bechavrusa, and to be subservient to one's Chavrusa - and yes - acknowledging that one can be wrong from time to time! This idea was beautifully backed up by hints from Tenach. |
